Synopsis:
A dying succubus relives how she sought out a goddess' mercy in order to flee the wrath of those she wronged. Banned to the world of humans to earn her redemption, she discovers that she was herself once a mortal woman, and that her choices then yet have an impact.
Excerpt:
I never feared death before. After all, I have had many deaths before, and never gotten out of it much worse when cast back to the Hells. But it will be different this time. I won’t be welcome in Hell. I have turned too many against me, and I have betrayed them in the most fundamental way a devil can. I turned coat, to the other side. I sought shelter with the Goddess. Nobody is going to forget that. I dread the remaking. I may pray myself lucky if I will bear any consciousness at all, and not be recast into a maggot to burn forever and fuel the power of the hell lords.
Now, I do feel fear. I am scared for what is to come. I don’t want to die. And I don’t want to go alone.
